I'm thinking about you today Andy. I miss you my friend. :(...
Dana Martin - DuBois
November 29, 2003
Andy (Roo-Roo) was one of my best friends since 1989. He was a true friend and a blessing to know. He had more friends than anyone I have ever met. I never heard him say an unkind word to, or about anyone in all of the years we were friends. He had nothing but love and kindness in his heart. No matter what was going on, we managed to stay in touch, and my life will never be the same without Andy in it. Not a day goes by when I do not think about him. I know he is blessing all of the people in Heaven now.

My deepest regaurds to Andy's family. Andy was loved very much among his freinds and I have seen many teary eyes in the past week. Andy was a strong man with a big heart. He had this amazing capacity to remember everyone he came in contact with. If you needed to talk to someone, you could talk to Andy. I'm comforted to know that I was able to know a truley incredeble human being named Andy Patterson. Thank you for you "Hello's" and thank you for being a freind.

With eager heart and will on fire,
I strove to win my great desire.
"Peace shall be mine," I said; but life
Grew bitter in the barren strife.
My soul was weary, and my pride
Was wounded deep; to Heaven I cried,
"God grant me peace or I must die;"
The dumb stars glittered no reply.
Broken at last, I bowed my head,
Forgetting all myself, and said,
"Whatever comes, His will be done;"
And in that moment peace was won.

Please accept our heartfelt sorrow for your loss, and our gratefulness for your love and leadership in our Christian community. Blessing upon you, always....Chip & Holly

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights." Habakkuk 3:17-19

I am such a lucky person to have known Andy. Not a day went by when he did not make me smile! He was full of joy and fun. Andy beamed with love and respect in this world where such qualities are hard to find in others. Every time I enter the doors of our favorite spot to hang out, I will always here Andy shouting, "Julie is here, Julie is here!" And I will think of him and wish I could say, "Andy is here, Andy is here!" He will forever be in my heart. His family is in my prayers. Roo, I love you, and I will miss you!

THE SCENT OF ROSES…
Let Fate do her worst
there are relics of joy
Bright dreams of the past
which she cannot destroy
Which comes in the night
time of sorrow and care
and bring back the features
that joy used to wear
Long be my heart
with such memories filled
Like the vase in which
roses have once been distilled
You may break you may shatter
the vase if you will
But the scent of the roses
will linger still

Roo was truely the most gental, sweet, unselfish, giving man I have ever known. The proof is in all the beautiful sentiments that people have written here. I will miss hearing him say "I'm just weird" because I would tell him that was the very reason I enjoyed his company.:o) I consider it a privelage to have known him and spent time with him. He made each and every person feel special and because of that he will be missed. I have to admit that the selfish side of me wishes he was still here even though I know he is in a much better place. My heart goes out to his family. I never got to meet you, but I can say I was a part of his extended family and I consider that an honor. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Curry: I want to thank you for introducing me to Roo. Thank you for sharing your beloved friend with me. Thank you for all you have done and are still doing.
Christy: Thank you for taking care of Roo, and by that I mean all that you did in friendship and love for him. You are a special person to have been able to do what you did most recently for him.
My love and thoughts are with you all in this time of sorrow.
In love and friendship,

"Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again." (unknown)
Andrew "Roo" was the type of person that could befriend a stranger and instantly make them feel a special kinship and connection, defining all that is great and good in each of us. Though I only spent a few days in your company you treated me as if we'd been friends for a decade. The distance across the ocean that recently separated us does not ease the pain I feel in hearing of your passing. I treasured the phone calls and emails we shared only a few short weeks ago and the comfort you provided during my Mom's medical crisis was appreciated -- I only wish I could have told you that in person. God bless your family in this difficult time. Let them be comforted in the fact that those of us who were fortunate enough to know you, are truely better for the experience and for meeting such a kind and gentle soul.

Roo:
I only recently learned of your passing, all I can say is that I will miss you more than anyone could possibly imagine.
Ive known you online for a short time, but in person even a shorter amount of time. I will ALWAYS appreciate the things that you did for me when I first arrived in Orlando.
I was scared and nervous about new doors opening to me, and you welcomed me with open arms to the area and into your life. You put up with lonely calls from someone who didnt know anyone down here, and you introduced me to your wonderful friends. For that I will always be greatful.
Roo, you were an angel when I needed one, and never expected anything in return. I will always remember the first time I met you at Magic Kingdom sitting there next to front gate waiting so that we could watch the fireworks, and talk face to face for the first time.
I have always believed that people are put on this earth with a purpose. Im still trying to figure out what mine is. YOUR purpose was to touch lives. In the brief time that I have known you. You definately touched my life and will always hold a special place in my heart.
"To touch the soul of another human being is to walk on holy ground." --Steven Covey
Thanks for listening...

Roo,
You reached out to me in your pain. And I shared mine with you. We both knew that pain shared is pain lessened. It was also the blossoming of a friendship. The light from the candle of your life will shine always for those of us who were touched by you. The only words for me to say are:
God, grant us the serenity
to accept the things we cannot change,
The courage to change the things we can,
and, the wisdom to know the difference.
You will be missed, Roo.
Love,

Well, almost everyone knows that our friend and special companion has passed to that friendlier world.
I'd like to suggest that you post some special thoughts about Roo.... or anything you'd care to share with us..... and then go to your parlor and light one single white candle and let it burn in memory of one of the finer young men who have crossed our path here on CBL.
Roo (Andy) was a jewel among all of us. Caring, sharing and always up.
Please take one small moment out of your lives and be perfectly still and quiet,,,, light just one small white candle and gaze into the flame which was and is Roo to all of us.
Don't cry! Because Andy wouldn't do that. Smile and look inside yourself as he did so many times for us and be with him.......... ALWAYS.
Roo,,,, goat and glenn and ron and the kids will always love you and never forget you. All the pain is gone and you are now with loving friends.. more to join you later.
So, until then..... a huge goat hugg just one more time.... just for you and all you stood for and will always stand for.
Your friend always,
Ron/Glenn/Goat

Andrew, or "Roo" as most knew him was probably the kindest most caring human being I have ever known....His entire livelyhood was to make others happy, and he tried to do so until the end. He succeded. Yes I am sad today for the loss of such a great person, but more so for not realizing that I had the chance to know an angel on earth, Im glad i did.....But i wish I would have given him more credit for being SO amazing. Roo will always have a special place in my heart...and everytime I pray, I hope he's listening.......
I Love You Roo.....
