James Fritz Obituary

James A. "Jim" Fritz, 68, of Auburn, died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 30, 2008, at the MidMichigan Medical Center Midland.

The son of Barbara M. (Gatza) and the late Arthur J. Fritz was born on April 8, 1940, in Bay City and had resided in this area all his life. He graduated from T.L. Handy High School, served with the U.S. Navy, worked and retired from General Motors, was a member of UAW Local 467 and St. Anthony/St. Joseph Parish Community.

On June 6, 1964, he married Patricia A. Reder; she survives him. Also surviving are his son, Robert J. (Kathy) Fritz, Bay City; his daughter, Melissa M. LeTourneau and her fiance, Adam Heinrich, Bay City; four grandchildren, Curtis D., Chad J., Cody L. LeTourneau and Cheryl A. Fritz; his mother, Barbara M. Fritz of Bay City; his brother, William L. (Laura) Fritz of Bay City; his sister, Janice M. Starr of Auburn; his mother in-law, Marian J. Reder of Auburn; his sister-in-law, Joanne M. Stange of Rochester; his brothers-in-law, John S. Reder of Mid-land, William A. (Marcia) Reder of Auburn; his stepsister-in-law, Lucille A. Wiesenauer of Auburn; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Anne Marie; a brother, L/CPL Jerald D. Fritz; his father-in-law, Stanley L. Reder; and brothers in-law, Jerome Starr and Herbert Stange.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (11 Mile & Midland roads) Fisherville. The Rev. Fr. Thomas E. Sutton will officiate, with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Fisherville.

Jim's family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. today from 1 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m.

Those persons who wish to remember Jim with a tribute are encouraged to consider St. Anthony/St. Joseph Parish Community or the Toni & Trish House for the care of terminally ill in (Fisherville). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Dear Bill, Laura, and family,
