Blanche Cross Obituary
The daughter of the late Jessie C. and Rachel Mary (Searles) Norris was born in Lansing on Nov. 24, 1915, where she was raised and educated. Blanche was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sanford. She enjoyed working in her garden, growing flowers and watching birds. She had resided in Beaverton for 40 years and recently returned to Midland. On April 11, 1933, in Midland, Blanche married Clyde H. Cross. He died in 1969.
Surviving are her son, James D. (Emelia) Cross of Beaverton; daughters, Betty Krenzke of Midland, and Shirley Kinnear of Lake; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Blanche was preceded in death by sons, Earl and Norman Cross; brother, R.J. Norris; and sisters, Irene Herman and Marguerite Norris.
Funeral services will take place 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sanford. The Rev. Paul V. Young will officiate. Interment will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Personal messages of support for the family may be offered at www.wilson-miller.com.
