Sheilla Stiles Obituary

Sheilla Rae Stiles, 39, of Three Rivers, formerly of Midland, passed away Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

She was born Feb. 17, 1969, in Gladwin, the daughter of Robert G. and Betty Jean (Vesterfelt) Gilman. Sheilla and her husband Rodney were married in Midland on Sept., 10, 1988. In 1991, they moved to the Three Rivers area where Sheilla was very active in her community. She was known as the "neighborhood mom." She helped start and organized the Citizens of Peace Public Awareness Program and also was a noon supervisor for Norton and Park Elementary Schools. She and Rod were very active in Splat-Mandu Paintball Club and they loved to ride motorcycles together. Sheilla loved all people and enjoyed especially her children and family.

She leaves, to cherish her memory, her loving family, husband, Rodney Stiles of Three Rivers; children, Corryn Stiles, Rendell Stiles, and Radley Stiles; also, two close boys she considered as her children, Shy Winters and Brian McDowell; parents, Robert and Betty Gilman of Midland; father and mother-in-law, Doreen and Ralph Stiles of Midland; grandmother, Alexandra Vesterfelt; three sisters, Tina Marie Gilman and her children, Gabrielle, Abigail and Seth Gilman of Midland, Kimberly Ann Gilman of South Carolina, and Nicole Lynn Gilman of Midland; sister-in-law, Cynthia and her husband, Dan, and their son Tyler Rau of Midland; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

The family received friends at the Hohner Funeral Home on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008. Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, with the Rev. Glenn Page and Mike King officiating. Interment is in Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family in honor of Shellia Stiles, c/o Rodney Stiles. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
