Dale Kluck Obituary

Dale O. Kluck, age 81 of Midland, died Thursday evening Sept. 4, 2008, at MidMichigan Medical Center.

The son of the late Paul J. and Frieda (Pohlman) Kluck was born in Saginaw on Dec. 4, 1926.

Dale attended schools in Saginaw, graduating in 1945 from Arthur Hill High School.

After working at Baker Perkins Company for one year, he enrolled at Michigan Tech, graduating in 1950 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering.

He then went to work with The Dow Chemical Co. on June 23, 1950, working first in the Physical Research Laboratory, then in the Plastics Department, after which he worked on the Research Director's Staff but spent over half of his career in the Patient Department before retiring on March 31, 1983.

Dale had many interests including sports such as track, cross country, basketball, touch football, bicycle riding, golf, bowling, ice skating and curling. Other interests included stamp collecting, listening to music, attending theatrical productions, travel, making up find-a-word puzzles and singing in church choirs or in an ecumenical choir. His faith journey included memberships in four different churches, his last being Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

Dale had no children of his own but was an "adopted grandfather" to thirteen grandchildren during his life time.

Dale is survived by his wife Winnie; a niece, Sharon (Orlin) Allen of Romeo, Mich.; great-nieces, Dawn (Phil) Walter of Arlington Heights, Ill., Tara (Jim) Goulet of Romeo, Mich.; great-nephew, Garth (Anita) Allen of Romeo and their families.

Per the wishes of Dale, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Interment of his ashes will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Saginaw.

Memorials may be offered to American Lung Association, 25900 Greenfield Rd., Suite 401 Oak Park, MI 48237 or the organization of choice.

Dale you will be greatly missed. You was one of my favorite residents when I worked at Washington Woods as one of the waitstaff at lunch time. My heart goes out to Winnie in her time and need. May the love of your family and friends help you through.

Our deepest sympathy in your loss of husband Dale.
In my work with Dow chemical I had a lot of contact with Dale and he was a very sincere and helpful person. He will be missed.
