I don't know what I can say about Dennis that everyone doesn't already know. He watched over me and kept me out of trouble since I met him in1986. He was more than a friend, he was my brother, my wingman. Usually we were together, working hard and playing hard. There would be way too many stories to even tell. I love this entire family and feel like they are my family too. I don't know exactly how we are going to get along without Dennis. He and I had been making so many plans for the future. Deb and I both loved our little buddy. I guess I have to say , I hope to meet you again someday. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Love you, Arch

Dennis Nagel's professional career at The Safety Equipment Store - Dennis was the Sales & Marketing Manager with responsibilities for the mgmt of sales as well as product and industry training for principal accounts. Dennis's career spanned more than 21 years and he was in the process of aquiring an ownership interest in the company. Anyone who worked with Dennis regardless if you worked for him, with him, were a customer or a supplier, could expect a positive experience. This was because you knew that each day you interacted with Dennis, you were about to be the fortunate beneficiary of his effusive and buoyant personality, can do spirit, strong work ethic, and square business ethic. Who else have you ever seen in so many pictures with such a wonderful smile, or mischievous grin, and obvious love for life? That wasn't for the camera, that was Dennis; at work, at home, at play, it did not matter. He enjoyed life. In each and every day of his 21 years with the company, no one ever saw Denny be anything other than himself; positive, enthusiastic, with a work ethic that would not quit. Literally. Call him at 5 in the morning and he was on his way to a customer location in some corner of the State. Call him at 7 in the evening and you found he was on his way home, having made more calls with more success than two people were capable of. Of course he was still going at 110%, fired up with the prospects of the success he had that day and he just could not wait to get home to Nicole, Patty, and his little buddy Eddy. Working 60-70 hours a week was not uncommon, but family came first with Dennis. It may not seem possible to most people, but Dennis never had a down day, he just found a way to be up, and you were going to have a very difficult time being miserable in his presence. He was the eternal optimist you hear so many speak of, and he lifted everyone around him. We sat down with Dennis a few months ago, and asked if he would be willing to take on some more responsibility, even though he had a heavy work load. Of course Dennis immediately said he couldn't wait to get going. We pointed out to Dennis that he was probably one of a very few Safety Professionals in the Country who had the natural gifts and experience he combined so effectively and successfully. It was so obvious that Dennis could take a position with most any large corporation, making more money, greater perks, and the status of being a big hitter with a big company. Dennis simply said, "I love what I am doing, and besides Cinny, we're a great team." Most importanty thought, Dennis was the sweetest person, our brother and we love him.

I've known Kelly and Dave for years, since Kelly was my second mom for much of my childhood, and Dave saved me and my brothers from a tornado! I've known Dennis, Patty, and Nicole as a child, then a babysitter, and always as a neighbor. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I am shocked and immensly saddened, but I know that you are all a part of an amazing family, and the love you share will guide you through your loss. My prayers and heart is with you.

I have had the priviledge to know Dennis for the past 14 years and to be his co-worker for half of those years. I was his "right hand man" and learned so much from his endless
bounty of knowledge. He was the most caring person, both profession-
ally and personally. My condolences
to all of his wonderful family mem-
bers. May you rest in peace Buddy -
I love you Dennis.

Dear Patty,
I am so sorry for your loss. I saw you and Dennis from a distance just a short time ago at a Chemic JV football game, but when I turned my head again to make eye contact you were leaving. I did notice Dennis wearing a Chippewa Preschool shirt (where I still work) and it caught my eye. My heart goes out to you and Nicole. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My greatest sympathies go out to the Nagel Family. I received word today that Dennis had passed and, although I haven't seen him since high school, it really hit me hard. Every time I came home to Midland I thought about looking Dennis and David up but never took the time. I regret and apologize for that now. We were all great friends too. It is amazing how much we take life for granted. Please accept my condolences. I wish I were able to be there for the services and say goodbye. David, please do it for me because, next to Dennis, you knew me better than most and would know what to say.
We ruled the wall and terrorized the school but everyone turned out OK; Dennis, David, and all of us that hung out together. I know that he must have left you all with great memories because, even after 27 years, he is still a great memory for me.

Patty,

We've never met, but I went to Dow High School with Dennis. I had him in at least one class as I remember it. I am long-time friends with Kelly and her sister Kim. I was so shocked to read about Dennis in the obituaries. He seemed like a very nice person, and by reading all the entries here, a lot of people thought the world of him. You have a lot of people supporting you. Please accept my condolences as well.

Dave & Kelly,

Your twin brother, and brother-in-law. I can only imagine what it is that you are feeling and going thru right now. Remember all the good times, and eventually you will be smiling at those memories. May his spirit be with you always. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Patty, I have never met you, but I was in Dennis and David's class in high school. Mindy (Yeakle) Warren forwarded me this tragic and sad news. There were several of us that hung out together and cruised the town back in the day. I have fond memories of Dennis and David too and maybe even that old Nova! There was some car the boys had that they started with a screw driver. I'm so saddened to hear of this loss to you, your family and countless friends. I am so very sorry.

Dave, just know that as your sister-in-law, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family during this time. Dennis will be missed dearly and even though he leaves this world, his love, laughter, and memories live on in our hearts. I am here for anything you/family may need. September 7, 2008

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dennis was always the one that came in at the end of the day, worked hard, and still had a smile on his face.
He enjoyed the people he worked with and the good times they had. He will be missed by us all.
It's always a sad day to lose a military brother, but I'll remember him for who he was, a damn hard worker, and a guy that would give you the shirt off his back. They don't come any better that that! God bless my friend until we meet again.

Words cannot begin to express my sorrow when I heard of Dennis' sudden passing. Having one half of the famous "Nagel Brothers" as my brother-in-law has been a blessing over the years. Dave, nothing I or anyone can say will ease the pain you are feeling right now. God must have needed another angel for He called one home early. Dennis was fun and full of life and he will be missed by so many. The memories that were shared with Dennis will be kept in our hearts forever. Please know that I love you and am thinking of you all during this time of great sorrow.

To the Nagle family,

Words cannot begin to express the feelings that you or any of us are feeling at this moment. You lost a husband, son, brother, and an uncle an we lost a dear friend, and a close military brother. Dennis was kind, supportive, goofy, intelligent, always there to lend a hand, and always, always there to just listen, but most of all he was our "Scrappy Doo", shoes that no one else will ever be able to fill. The loss of Dennis has left a huge hole in many of our hearts and an emptiness in our soles. At such a difficult time as this, please take peace in knowing that Dennis is in a much better place. A place where he can constantly watch over and protect you all, guide you, and continuously have his arms wrapped around you and keep you safe. I don't personally know Dennis's wife Patty or his daughter Nicole, but I do know them through Dennis. You two were the love of his life.... Dennis alway talked about Nicole and the stuff she was involved in, particularly her modeling. Even with our military family I can't recall too many conversations with Dennis that your two names did not come up. Chief Nagel, you lost your brother, your golf partner, your hunting buddy and most of all your best friend, but do know he is still right there with you, in his sarcastic way with that only
Dennis grin on his face, rubbing it in to you "what kind of golf shot was that" or "you missed that big buck" just the way that he does. Remember Dennis is still there to talk too and he will always, always be there with you all. This time is very very difficult for all of us and as hard as this moment in time is for us to deal with right now, do know that God chose to take Dennis at this time for a reason and in time we will all heal. We have great, great memories of and with Dennis that will never, never go away, that is one thing that will in time give us all peace. I pray for the entire Nagel family and our military family, that God will wrap his arms around this entire family, aid them in their grief and help them heal. I pray for him to watch over all of us and protect us all. We will always hold your family in our hearts and prayers. For now I say to Dennis my brother, you are at peace, and your sadly missed here in the being. Know that many will watch over and protect your family as they are our family too. All of our souls will meet again, and I know you will be right at those gates with open arms to greet us all. As hard as it is too say goodbye to you at this time "Scrappy Doo", my heart does find peace in knowing that I will see you again.
