Mary Pritchard Obituary

Mary T. Pritchard, 76, of Midland died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland.

She was born Jan. 30, 1932, in County Roscommon, Ireland the daughter of the late Thomas and Bridgette Abbott. Mary moved to New York at the age of 17, where she obtained her nursing license. Mary T. Abbott married Patrick C. Pritchard April 6, 1958, in Brooklyn, N. Y. He died Sept. 18, 2000. She was employed at the VA Hospital, was a charge nurse at Kelsey Memorial Hospital and retired from Midland County Pinecrest Home. Mary enjoyed her retirement traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Mary is survived by a son, Darrell Pritchard of Midland; daughters, Colleen and Phillip Brown of Barryton, Cynthia and Henry Love of Falmouth, and Cheryl Pritchard of Midland; grandchildren, Ashley and Adam Atkins, Christopher, Kristin, Tara, Lance, Eric, and Sarah; great-grandson, Austin; sisters, Angela and Joseph Malecki of Cumming, Ga., Catherine Mann of Shephard, Claire Geraghty of Roscommon, Ireland, and Josephine and Donald Brennan of Scranton; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Betty Gilman, Amy Hovey, Darlene Boyce and Karla Rydman. She was preceded in death by a son Carl Pritchard; brothers, Michael, Thomas and Christopher Abbott; and a sister, Patricia Waddington.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday Sept. 12, 2008, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman.

Friends may call at the O'Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday starting at 10 a.m. until the time of services.
