Josephine Sepos Obituary

Josephine Marie Sepos, 85, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Midland, died Saturday afternoon, Sept. 6, 2008, at Maplewood of Mount Pleasant.

She was born on Jan. 11, 1923, in Jerome Township, Midland County, daughter of the late Julius and Florence ( Hannafius) Geiling and was a graduate of Coleman High School. On Feb. 21, 1945, she was married to Joseph Sepos in Hampton, Va. He predeceased her on Oct. 23, 1981. Josephine had been employed during her lifetime at the Midland Country Club, Michigan Bell Telephone as an operator, and later by MaCauley and Helen Whitting. After her retirement, she and her husband retired to New Port Richey, Fla.

Josephine is survived by two daughters, Sandra Sparschu and her husband Marvin of Saginaw and Judith Warner of Rosebush; four grandchildren, Kristine Call of Saginaw, Brian Sparschu and his wife Angel of Pikeville, Ky., Stacy Breen and her husband Matthew Dunn of Dallas, Texas and Andrea Mata and her husband Phil of Mount Pleasant; nine great-grandchildren, Adam, Alivia, Lucas, Joseph, Lanny III, Cody, Nicholas, Conner and Finley; and her brother Aaron Geiling and his wife Gerry of Sanford. In addition to her parents and her husband, Josephine was predeceased by her brother, Alonzo Geiling; and her sister, Gleanis Johndro.

Funeral services will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St., Midland. The Rev. Jim Simcox will officiate, with burial to follow in the Midland Cemetery.

Josephine's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

It was a pleasure to have Josephine as a part of our Maplewood family. I would like to thank her family for allowing us to be a part of her life. We will always have the memories that she has left with us in our hearts. We send our greatest sympathy to all her family, our thoughts and prayers are with you. From Josephine's Maplewood Family.

Joe and Josephone were good friends of my parents, Marion & Rosemary Lashuay many years ago. I remember them coming to our home many times. Wonderful people. My sincere sympathy.
