When Shirley was healthy she enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, bingo and crafts. She is remembered as being a loving person who centered her life around her family, her children and grandchildren. Shirley had a strong Christian belief and, when able, she attended the Olson Church to share her faith in the Lord.

The family would like to express a thank you to Pastor Ron Frederick for his many prayers and words of comfort -- this brought her and our family much comfort during our moments of need. And also thanks to the MidMichigan Home and Hospice program for providing caring nurses, aides and social workers who helped her fulfill her desire to remain at home until her death.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home with burial at the Lee Township Cemetery. Pastor Ron Frederick will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

To Dewight, Girls & family - I will always remember the fun times we had growing up at your house with your mom (Shirley) the board games, camping, rounding up the pigs. What a fun loving and caring person Shirley was and will always be remembered in this way. Take care and may you all find the comfort that you need at this time.

My condolences to Shirley's family and other loved ones. I remember Shirley, when we lived on Gordonville Rd., being a quiet, hard-working woman with a loving commitment to her family and friends. It's wonderful to know her legacy of love continues.
