Charles O'Dell Obituary
He was born on June 9, 1923, in Flint, son of the late Clare and Mabel (Moll) O'Dell. Charles married the former Janice McCartney on Sept. 26, 1946, in Midland. Janice died on Dec. 12, 1990. He had worked at the Dow Chemical Co. for 30 years as an operator, retiring in 1979.
Charles had served with the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany and the European Theater and was awarded the Bronze Star.
He is survived by one son, David (Bonnie) O'Dell of Roscommon, and one daughter, Diane (Gary) Kelsey of Flushing; five grandchildren, James, Somer, Robert, William and Michael, and by seven great-grandchildren.
Charles's family will receive friends at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St., on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Private burial will take place at Midland Memorial Gardens at a later date.
