John Freudenmuth Obituary

John F. "Frank" Freudenmuth, 98 of Midland, died Saturday morning, Sept. 27, 2008, at The Laurels in Mt. Pleasant.

The son of the late John L. and Clara M. (Benninger) Freudenmuth was born in Elmwood Twp. Huron County on May 22, 1910, moving to Midland in 1918 where he attended schools. Frank served nine years with the National Guard, 107 Motorcycle Company. He had been employed with The Dow Chemical Co. While working with Dow, Frank spent two years in Germany and Canada helping with the construction of the Chlor-Alkali Plant. He retired in 1975 after 46 years of service. Frank enjoyed sports and coached little league baseball and pee wee football. He liked to play the piano and played in several local dance bands. On July 16, 1937 Frank married the former Helen Anger.

Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Helen; son, Michael D. (Barbara) Freudenmuth of Preque Isle, Mich.; daughter, Frances "Fran" (Gerry) Kretschmar of Brentwood, Tenn.; grandchildren, Steven (Leigh Anne) Kretschmar, Kra (Casey) Jetton, Krista (James) Taylor, Derek Freudenmuth; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Andrew, Alexis, Emily, Joshua, Rebecca, Thomas and Chloe; sister in law, Violet Freudenmuth. Frank was preceded in death by great grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan; brother, Leo Freudenmuth.

Funeral services will take place 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Fr. Jim Hast OFM, Cap of St. Agnes Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from noon until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the organization of choice. Dear Helen and family.
Sorry to read of Franks death. I know he will be greatly misssed. I was in Midland for my 60th class reunion on 19th and 20th and I was wondering how you all were. In fact, I placed flowers on my parents grave site and walked over to see Aunt Clare and Jacks stone. In case you have forgotten
I wrote the Bliss Genealogy book.
