Nick,
I think of you often wondering where and what you would be doing today. The world lost a beautiful soul the kind that we need now more than ever. You have inspired many like myself who choose to do good always. To see the brokenness in others and try to heal them. To do what's right even in the face of adversity.
Thank you for being unapologetically yourself and do what you believed in. You truly were and still are the role model and inspiration we should aspire to be.
Just know you are never forgotten and are still very much loved.

I don't think there is anything that can be said to make your family feel better. This is the most horrific tragedy I've ever heard of, and it should have never happened. I wrote you immediately after seeing this site in the Phila. Inquirer. I felt I had to do something because no one, unless they have gone thru something so so tragic, can imagine how you were feeling. We cried and prayed for you and for Nick. We live fairly close to you, and I just had to tell you that every time we are near your road, you are still in our thoughts and prayers. I think you are such very special people.

I cried and I cried. I am so sad over this loss; sickend in such a physical way over Nick's death. I take for granted the life that I have with my family. I take for granted the warm house that we live in. My two boys are young, 7 and 2, and I cry for them, because I love them dearly. Every time I hug my children I will remember one of your's, Nick. Please, keep strength and never give up in your quest for the truth. Your family is in my heart.

I'd like to say I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'd like to share with you a poem that was read at my brother's funeral, he died at 20 years old from cancerous brain tumors.

As a member of this community I was shocked and filled with sadness when I heard about Nick.I had only met Nick a few times but he was funny and filled with happiness. He seemed full of life and ready for any task that came his way. My boyfriend (Justin) also a local of west chester met Nick at the Ymca.Justin a new member to the Y was learning how to lift weights not really sure what to do, Nick noticed him and came over to help. They only lifted together a short time after that, but this is something that will stay in his & my memory for always.Your son Nick will be foreverly missed.

Dear Mr & Mrs Berg, I am not American and not particularly a devout Christian, although hearing the news on the radio driving to a business meeting those days ago I felt devastated and for some reason wanted to make contact with you although you are on the other side of the Atlantic. I have a son aged 4 and I wanted to say that we everyone in the free world have people like your son to thank for our luxuries such as freedom to speak and work hard and put our children through university. If it wasn’t for people like your son Nick, none of us would have the luxuries of freedom of speech. As I tuck my boy in tonight I will say a prayer for your brave son Nick. Nick chose to leave the comfort of America and place himself at risk for the better of others. Our freedoms in the civilised world our built on the lives of brave people like Nick.
