Walter Mattson Obituary


Walter S. Mattson VIRGINIA BEACH - Walter Stephen Mattson, 63, went to be with the Lord Aug. 10, 2008. Mr. Mattson was born Feb. 7, 1945, in New York, to the late Casper and Mary Mattson. In 1968, Mr. Mattson enlisted to serve his country in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Mattson and Donald Mattson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 10 years, Brenda Mattson; his children, Steve Mattson, Nanta Susie, Audrey White, Bennie Swindell and Pamela Le Seur; three grandchildren, Shaseem White, Shavon White and Isaiah Le Seur. He is also survived by his brother, Kenny Mattson of New Jersey; a host of friends and his beloved pets, Yoda and Bless. A funeral will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach. Interment will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk. The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyer.com.
