Kathryn Herbert Obituary


Kathryn H. Herbert NORFOLK - Kathryn H. Herbert, 97, of the 9500 block of Hammett Parkway, passed away Aug. 13, 2008, in Providence Place at DePaul. A native of Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Austina Hobday and the widow of Claude Page Herbert. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Tidewater Art Guild, and was active in several garden clubs and the scouts. She is survived by her two sons, Page Herbert and his wife Patricia, and John Herbert and wife Mary; a brother, Stanley Hobday and wife Annalou; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Tompson and husband George, Elizabeth H. Losey, Scott Herbert and wife Mellina, and Page Herbert Jr.; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, with the Rev. Kathleen Monge officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

Only met you once, when Bobbi took us all to lunch in Yorktown,,, we did have fun, and really filled up at that wonderful buffet place you liked so well. Will miss talking to you on the phone, You were a special lady.

Granny was by far the oldest person i have ever met but you would not know it for a second to meet her, she was always in such high spirits and always so lady like. I knew her firSt though mom who talked about her as if shed were an angle. Granny never quit until see could not go on. I always loved seeing her and will miss her
