Levitta Mason Obituary


Levitta Mason SUFFOLK - Levitta Haywood Davis Mason, 74, of the 4700 block of Magnolia Drive, died Aug. 13, 2008, in her home. A native of Portsmouth, she retired from the Suffolk school system in 2000 and was a member of Portsmouth First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include her husband, George F. Mason Jr.; one daughter, Phyllis Adams and husband Steve; two sons, Lance Mason and wife Beth and Skeets Mason and wife Brenda; one sister, Marie Turney; one brother, William G. Haywood; and 10 grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, by the Rev. Nelson Fields. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
