Mary, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Although I never got to meet her, I feel like I did get to know a little bit about her from listening to your stories about her playing the piano for everyone. I know that she will be dearly missed by friends and family alike.

Dear Mary,
Although I never had the privilege of meeting your mother in person, I knew, from the many stories you shared, that she was a phenomenal pillar of strength, virtue and grace. Even as a young teen, when times for the both of you were difficult and uncertain, you gleaned from her strength and perseverance and absorbed the same sense of tenacity and empathy---a rare find in a child so young. Your unfaltering, boundless devotion and commitment continued for the rest of her life. It was the greatest gift you could have given to her, and the greatest legacy you will leave for your own children. Your personal and professional accomplishments, and undoubtedly those of your children, are a testament to the very fine example set by your mom. I know there is a void in your life now that can never really be filled, and my heartfelt condolences are extended to you and yours.
Fondly,
lucy
