Jimmie Phillips NORFOLK - Jimmie Phillips, "Jimmie Pretty Boy Sutton," of the 6300 block of Sedgefield Drive, passed away Aug. 15, 2008, in Norfolk Health Care Center. He was born April 22, 1944, in North Carolina. Jimmie was educated in the Norfolk public school system and was a licensed barber. He also served several years in the U.S. Navy. Jimmie leaves in God's care his wife, Mary "Shack" Phillips; his parents, the Rev. Elmer and Patsy Phillips; four brothers, Abdul Aswad Phillips and wife of Norfolk, Elmer Lee Phillips Jr. and wife of Norfolk, James Sutton of Richmond and Keith Edmonds and wife of Norfolk; four sisters, Joanne Smith of Chesapeake, Joanne Sutton of Richmond, Patricia Phillips of Delaware and Betty Jean Bryant of Richmond; one stepdaughter, Janet Jackson; one stepson, Floyd Jr.; and a host of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Ave. Interment will be at Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
