Betty Vigneault Obituary


Betty Gilliland Vigneault NORFOLK - Betty Gilliland Vigneault, 76, of the 2400 block of Stribling Lane, died Aug. 15, 2008, in her residence. She was a native of Pinehurst, N.C., and a resident of Norfolk since 1961. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Lula Byrd Gilliland and was the widow of Eugene G. Vigneault Sr. She was preceded in death by her son, Eugene G. Vigneault Jr. Betty was a Roman Catholic and a Sultanna with the International Order of the Alhambra, Padul Caravan No. 69 and was an active volunteer with De- Paul Hospital and Christ the King School. She is survived by her daughter, Susan V. Argus and her husband Don of Norfolk; and her sons, Ronald S. Vigneault and his wife Loretta of Virginia Beach, Alan J. Vigneault and his wife Linda of Norfolk and Dale P. Vigneault and his wife Jean Mairee of Norfolk and Craig L. Vigneault of Portsmouth and her daughter-in-law, Terry B. Vigneault of Lilburn, Ga. She is also survived by her brother, William R. Gilliland and his wife Carolyn of Greensboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Miller and her husband Kevin, Brian and Ashley Vigneault, Matthew and Leanne Vigneault and Thomas, Christopher and Fallon Fant; and five great-grandchildren, Cohen and Xaven Miller and Cameron, Alexia and Gavin Vigneault; and numerous nieces and nephews, including, Pam Gilliland and William R. Gilliland Jr. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Father James C. Griffin will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at hdoliver.com.
