Curtis Wick

Curtis Robert Wick VIRGINIA BEACH - Curtis Robert Wick died peacefully Aug. 16, 2008. He was born Dec. 16, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Wallace Scott Wick and Elizabeth Ogden Wick. He spent most of his young life in Hutchinson, Kan. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Buff Norfleet Wick and two sisters, Joyce Wick Kettenbach and Faye Wick. He is survived by his wife, Carlotta Buff Norfleet Wick; a daughter, Carlotta Elizabeth Wick Rice; twin grandchildren, Carlotta Wick Rice and Alexander Hawkinson Rice; a son-in-law, Christopher Hawkinson Rice; a sister, Mary Jane Wick Bender of Las Gatos, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the parish of Christ Church in Greenwich, Conn. He attended the University of Kansas where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He transferred to the United States Navel Academy and graduated in the class of 1948. He returned to civilian life after the Korean War and joined ESSO Standard Oil, now Exxon Mobil. He held various executive positions in Baton Rouge, La., Houston, Texas, New York, N.Y., Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Singapore. There will be a memorial service at a later date. H.D.
