William Curtin Obituary
William J. Curtin Jr. CHESAPEAKE - Senior Chief Petty Officer William Joseph Curtin Jr., U.S. Navy retired, 63, of the 1900 block of Dawnee Brook Trail, South, died Aug. 16, 2008, in a local hospital. He was born in Fairfield, Conn., and was the son of the late William and Helen Curtin. William retired from the U.S. Navy as a senior chief petty officer following 22 years of service. He was also a retired production manager with AMSAC. William is survived by his wife Sandra L. Curtin. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, with the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

I was deeply saddened at the news of Mr. Curtin's passing. I wish to express my heart-felt condolences to the family and friends of Mr. William "Bill" Curtin. He was a great mentor.

I just received the sad news and wanted to offer my condolences for the death of William J. “Bill” Curtin to his family and friends. I was colleague and fellow manger with Bill at Newport News Shipbuilding and AMSEC for over 10 years before my retirement and remember him as kind, friendly and very devoted to his work. I have countless memories of our frequent San Diego, CA and Washington, D.C. travels together along with our many professional and personal deliberations. The U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier force, along with the Submarine community has lost a dedicated data administrator and highly skilled Configuration Manager.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by his passing. I will arrange to have Bill’s name included in our prayer list at church for the safe keeping of his soul and the support and consolation of Sandra.

I am so sorry about Bill's passing away. I worked with Bill many years at AMSEC and thought he was such a pleasant person to work with. I pray that God will pour His blessings on you and give you the strength to go through this time.
