Doris Smith Obituary


Doris Edwards Smith GREENSBORO - Mrs. Doris Edwards Smith, 87, died Aug. 19, 2008, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., to the late Doulf and Ellen Keeter Edwards. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Smith of the home; daughter, Linda Cox of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two grandchildren, Mary Ann Hall of Oak Ridge and Angie Wilkie of Greensboro; three great- grandchildren, Joseph Hall, Kellyn Hall and Ashley Wilkie. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today in Forbis and Dick, North Elm St. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered to www.forbisanddick.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
