Michael Sullivan Obituary


Michael John Sullivan Jr. NORFOLK - Michael John Sullivan Jr., 35, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 22, 2008, in Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center, Norfolk, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Michael was born Aug. 9, 1973, in Portsmouth, the son of Michael John Sullivan Sr. and Rose Angela Sullivan, both of Norfolk. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Rian Share Sullivan; parents, Rose Angela and Michael John Sullivan Sr.; mother and father-in-law, Leslie and Judy Share, all of Norfolk; sister, Annemarie Price and her husband Ronald and their sons, Alec, Eric, and Brady of Winchester, Va.; brother-in-law, Bradley Share and his wife Becky and their children, Gracie and Jared Share of Norfolk; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Ireland, England and Australia; and countless friends who were like family. Michael was a graduate of Norfolk Catholic High School, Class of 1991. He was employed by the City of Norfolk in the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. Michael will be remembered for his love of the outdoors which began with his many years in the Boy Scouts. He was gifted in horticulture and landscape design. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Pius X Catholic Church celebrated by Father Vanancio Baltroe Jr. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. You may pay condolences to the family at www.mem.com. Memorial donations may be made in Michael's honor to The National Shrine of St. Jude or Norfolk Botanical Garden.

My condolences goes out to the Sullivan family and his wife. Michael will be truly miss but always in our hearts. Mike and I attended school together from 1st grade thru high school and played on the basketball team together. I will always remember our rivalry (Bird vs Jordan) :) and I'll never forget.

Words can't describe the thoughts running through my mind when I was told this tragic news. Rian, I haven't known you and Mike but for about 2 years, but I can say that the time I've spend with you guys has been nothing but memorable. Mike was just an amazing, fun loving guy! I enjoyed always stopping by to visit when I was in VA. My heart goes out to you, Mike's family, and your family. Stay strong and keep a your head up. He will be terribly missed by sooo many people.
