Alvin Britt Obituary
Alvin O. Britt PORTSMOUTH - Alvin O. Britt, 68, of the 1400 block of Roosevelt Blvd., passed away Aug. 21, 2008. Mr. Britt was born May 27, 1940, in Severn, N.C. He was the son of the late George and Gracie Lee Britt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a truck driver for McLean Trucking Company for 18 years. Mr. Britt is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn V. Britt; daughter, Bernae M. Britt; son, David P. Britt and wife Sonya; brother, Willis Britt and wife Marie of Jackson, N.C.; sister, Maxine Darden of Williamsburg; brothers-in-law, Riley L. Franklin Jr. of Newark, N.J., Steve R. Huskey of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Paul A. Huskey and wife Thelma of Catonsville, Md.; four grand- daughters; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to thank Bon Secours Hospice for their dedicated care and guidance. At Mr. Britt's request, there will be no viewing or memorial services. Cremation Society of Virginia, Virginia Beach, is assisting the family.
