Nina Estes Obituary


Nina T. Estes WINTERVILLE - Nina Sue Lasitter Taft Estes, 75, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008. Mrs. Estes, a native of Pitt County, had lived in Greenville most of her life and in Virginia Beach. She was a member of Jarvis United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Hattie Sue Scoville Lasitter and first husband, Zack V. Taft. She is survived by her husband, John Estes of Winterville, N.C.; sons, Zack V. Taft Jr. and wife Melissa of Greenville, N.C., and Michael D. Taft and wife Marylee of Elizabeth City; daughters, Susan Jane Greer and husband Dale of Wilmington, N.C. and Allison Jordan and husband Dale of Green Bay, Wis.; stepchildren, Linda Cahoon of Dallas, John Estes Jr. and Larry Estes, both of Norfolk; sister, Jeri Lasitter McConkey of Newport, N.C.; and brothers, Moses D. Lasitter of Trentwood, N.C., and Tyre B. Lasitter of Durham, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina, 3520 Tupper Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
