Edna Parisher

Edna M. Parisher NORFOLK - Edna Mae Parisher went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ quite suddenly after a brief hospital stay due to pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her beloved husband of 60 years, Floyd, her four children and numerous grandchildren. She was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Amherst, Mass., to the late Lillian W. Holden. She was 80 years old. She is survived by her husband, Floyd; her children, Dana (Sammy) Cohen, Linda (Dick) Curtis, David (Jackie) Parisher and Lillian Parisher; her seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and dear friends. She is also survived by her sister, Florence Nelson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Holden and her sister, Ruth MacKenzie. Edna was a loving, unselfish, caring wife and mother. She served for more than 50 years in the nursery at Kempsville Baptist Church, where she was an active member since 1950. She was an avid bowler until her death. The funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. in Kempsville Baptist Church. Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements.
