Beatrice Brock Obituary


Beatrice T. Brock ZUNI - Beatrice Turner Brock, 93, widow of Alvin Grant Brock, went to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 24, 2008. She was born in Southampton County, a daughter of the late Moss McCarver and Minnie Belle Drewry Turner, and was predeceased by a sister, Sallie Edwards and a nephew, D. S. Edwards. Mrs. Brock was retired from Beale's Meat Packing. She was known throughout the area as the "Apple Jack Lady." She was a lifetime member of Black Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for more than 60 years. She loved her church, family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lillie Belle Faison; two sons, A. Grant Brock and wife Carol and Ivan M. Brock, all of Zuni; four grandchildren, Diana Beale and husband Johnie of Walters, the Rev. Curtis Faison and wife Beth of Danville, Tara Taylor and husband Tripp and Chad Brock and wife Jill of Zuni; and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts and the Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to Hope Tree Family Services, P.O. Box 849, Salem, VA 24153, Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 228, Ivor, VA 23866 or Black Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 34163 Vicksville Road, Franklin, VA 23851. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
