Mrs."B", Fred, Geri and family: "Doc" is a permanent fixture in my childhood/young adult memories...having spent most of it on that trampoline in Phx. He will be remembered for his great humor and even hand at dealing with a bunch of unruly kids. Pleas accept my deepest sympathies.

With my interest in the history of Arizona State University baseball, I had a chance to meet Al briefly at the annual baseball alumni game and golf tournament. Al provided a great deal of information about his playing days and I am very thankful for that. I am also indebted to Al for the terrific historical baseball jersey he donated to the ASU Sports Hall of fame. That is the oldest such baseball jersey in the collection. Ironically too, my engineering career was spent at AiResearch in Phoenix, but I never had occassion to work with Al. My condolences to the Barnes family.

Rest Alfred, until you hear at dawn,
the low, clear reveille of God.

Thank you for your service to this nation.

Dear Leona, I called Carl Miller when I read Al's obituary. Al was our teacher at ISTC along with Bert Woodcock. Al hired each of us to teach at SDSU when he was there. He was a fine man. We'll never forget him or you. With our sympathy. Ron Short
