Joseph Fantone Obituary


Joseph J. Fantone Jr. NORFOLK- Joseph John Fantone Jr., 79, of the 1300 block of Bill St., passed away Aug. 26, 2008, at his home. A native of Norfolk, Joseph was retired from JCPenney. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, and also enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn S. Fantone; two daughters, Helen Cummins and husband Greg of Norfolk and Melissa Mattes and husband Jim of Garner, N.C.; four sisters, Shirley DiDomenico of Norfolk and Nancy Owen, Pat Zito and husband Chuck and Ida Ruth Roberson, all of Virginia Beach; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Fantone; and a sister, Dorothy Parker. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Dan Beeman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Food Pantry, 154 W. Government Ave., Norfolk, VA 23503. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
