Benny Fefer Obituary


Benny Fefer VIRGINIA BEACH - Benny Fefer, 83 passed away Sept. 5, after a long and difficult illness. Born in Poland, he was a survivor of the concentration camp in Buchenwald. He joined the U.S. Army in 1950 and served heroically in the Korean conflict where he was injured. After his recovery, he was assigned as manager of the Officers' Club in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1956, he married Margo Pfizenmayer and they moved to the United States. Benny worked for Fancy Foods of Virginia for 26 years before he retired. He was a longtime member of Temple Israel, was a Disabled American Veteran, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the U.S. Army MacArthur Memorial Chapter. Benny leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Margo and his daughter, Debbie Rios. Margo will deeply miss her dearest friend and companion who loved her to the end. A celebration of Benny's life will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Good Sheppard Mausoleum Chapel in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. His wife would like to thank Dr. Thomas Albercio, his staff, and the nurses of Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital for their kindness during Benny's illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.woodlawngroup.com.

Dear Debby,
Even though I can't be there with you to help you through this very hard time, please know that you are closely held in my thoughts & prayers during this very difficult time & I am sending my deep-felt condolences to you & your mom. You have both lost your leading man & you will need each other to lean on for strength & support.
