It was my privilege to get to know James this year during our respite care sessions. He never really left Natick, and loved his Sox! He was a fine man and will be missed. My deepest sympathy to Mike and Kay and the family.

Mac was a desk officer at the 2nd precinct when I first joined the VBPD in 1980. He and Leo Lister another fine marine ran the desk and kept us "newer guys" in order and out of trouble. He always had a cheerful way and was always willing to help. My condolences go to his family as he was a fine man and I know he will be missed.

My sympathy to the family. I joined the Princess Anne County Police Department in March of 1959. We had three dispatchers at the time. Dudley, Litchfield and Mac. Mac was my favorite because we were both former Marines. I retired in l980 and Mac worked for me at the third precinct when he completed the Police Academy. He was more sartisified as a dispatcher. I made visits to his home on Bonney Road several times and we were always good friends. I never knew Mac to harm a single person. He was always there when you needeed a friend. I do remember him sending me from Shore Drive to Back Bay to answer a call when the officer in that area was busy. He never held a call regardless how far he had to send
someone. I feel your loss and he will be missed by many. May God bless your family during these trying times.
Mac's friend and first Captain.
