Dorothy Cuffee Obituary


Dorothy B. Cuffee PORTSMOUTH - Dorothy B. Cuffee, 77, of Median Place, passed away Sept. 5, 2008, in her residence. She was born Aug. 18, 1931, to the late William and Bessie Blake formerly of Norfolk. She was the widow of Filmore S. Cuffee Sr. Mrs. Cuffee was a faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where she served in numerous ministries. She retired from Norfolk Bag Co. and the Portsmouth school system. Dorothy was a member of the Survivor Club and Lane Memorial Tent No. 185. She is survived by her children, Lorraine Nowell (Arthur), Rita Nicholson, Filmore Cuffee Jr. (Charlene), Regina Richardson (Archie), Sylvester Cuffee (Verleria), Lesha Sorrell (William), Angela Cannady (James) and Terrell Cuffee; two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; special devoted friend, Leonard Lipcomb; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in New Bethel Baptist Church, 4212 Greenwood Drive, by Bishop James M. Whitaker. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
