Lottie Washington-Ford Obituary


Lottie Washington-Ford PORTSMOUTH - Lottie Washington-Ford, 84, of the 4900 block of Clifton St., Chesapeake, died Sept. 8, 2008, in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. She was born in Scranton, N.C. Lottie was a loving and caring mother and wife. She was married to the late Edward Washington and the late Levi Ford. Lottie was a member of Good News Family Worship Center, where she served as a church mother. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Patricia Washington of Portsmouth, Debra and Teresa Washington, both of Chesapeake; three sons, William and Theodore Washington, both of Portsmouth and Benjamin C. Washington (Natonia) of Suffolk; one sister, Julie Green of Belleville, Mich.; one sister-in-law, Ethel Coppedge (Fletcher); 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Lula Mae Rogers; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sons, Edward Dwight Washington and Clinton B. Washington. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon at Good News Family Worship Center, 925 N. Military Highway, Norfolk, with Dr. Levi Willis II officiating. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Steele-Bullock Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Viewing will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home and a wake will be held at Holy Trinity No. 1, 3611 Thorne Ave., Portsmouth, from 6 to 8 p.m. Family and friends may assemble at the residence Saturday at 11 a.m. for the procession to the church.
