My dear cousins and other members of the family, I could not be with you in person today, but I have been thinking of you and of Uncle Jimmy the past few days. I have very special memories of him, talking with me when I was younger, often in a room crowded with other people, Uncle Jimmy usually talking to me one on one about how things worked, explaining the mysteries of navigation, gasoline and electric motors, and television (yes, television was young then). Later years he and I talked about lost shipwreck treasures and old coins. I will always remember him as a kind and caring person who loved his family. God bless you all. Your loving cousin Bobby in Wisconsin.

Dear Lindseys,
I am sorry I was unable to attend your father’s funeral today. I will remember Uncle Jimmy as a kind and caring individual who always had time for others. I enjoyed speaking with him when I was little and looked forward to conversations with him as I grew to be an adult. Both my parents always enjoyed your Mom and Dad’s company. My father loved your Dad and spoke of him often. I will always be indebted to you for your kindness in bringing Jimmy to visit Robert at The Flyway, for taking him to visit Jimmy, and just letting him know how Jimmy was feeling. My father truly loved and respected your Dad. Uncle Jimmy touched many lives and the world is a better place for his having been here. May God bless you and keep you,

Love,
