Olivia Brockett Obituary


Olivia Brockett VIRGINIA BEACH - Olivia Brockett, 80, of Albany, N.Y., transitioned to her new home Sept. 11, 2008, from Barnwell Nursing Home, Valatie, N.Y. Olivia was born April 24, 1928, to the late Gideon and Allean H. Brockett in Princess Anne County. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Albany, N.Y., where the Rev. Stovall is the pastor. She was predeceased by her husband, Deacon Robert J. Franklin; two sons, Robert J. Franklin III and Ronald L. Franklin; two brothers, Forrest Brockett (Bernice) and William T. Brockett; and a sister, Mary A. Clemmons. She is survived by two brothers, Charles A. Brockett (Annette) of Chesapeake and Garland Mosley (Sharon) of Monmouth Junction, N.J.; three grandchildren, Ronald Franklin, Jr. (Myla) of Pittsford, Mass., Robert J. Franklin IV and Dwayne Franklin, both of Albany, N.Y.; nine great-grandchildren; six nephews; two nieces; a daughter-in-law, Annie Franklin; and a host of cousins and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Bethel Baptist Church, 4636 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach. The Dr. A.D. Moore will officiate. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at the church for the service. The family will receive guests at 4515 Miarfield Ave. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Ave. Chapel, is in charge. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
