Mark Swirsky Obituary

Mark David Swirsky VIRGINIA BEACH - Mark David Swirsky, 67, of the 3500 block of Terrazzo Trail, passed away Sept. 12, 2008, in his home. Mark was born in Bronx, N.Y., March 9, 1941, to the late Sam and Lillian (Poretz) Swirsky. He was a beloved brother of Francine and devoted son. Mark graduated from Glens Falls High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1960. While serving his country, he received a meritorious promotion to become first class petty officer and he retired in the fall of 1979. He was a deeply devoted husband of Sharon, and a loving father to their three sons, Neal, Seth and Raymund, and his grandson, Matthew. He became a completed Jew in the Messiah in 1976 and lived an exemplary life. Though he had many health issues, in spite of them all, he gave thanks and praises to God because he knew God personally, loved and adored Him. Let us also live the same pleasing life. Mark leaves behind a loving family and a host of friends, including Joe, and associates. He will be greatly missed by all. Lastly, let us utilize our time to God's glory as Mark did. The Swirsky family acknowledges with deep appreciation, all acts of kindness, prayers and loving words during the passing of our beloved Mark. A funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, with the Rev. David Lambert officiating. The burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
