Bernice Worrell Obituary
Bernice D. Worrell NEWSOMS - Bernice Drake Worrell, 85, widow of Morris Riddick Worrell, died Sept. 16, 2008. She was born in Southampton County, a daughter of the late James Franklin and Lennie Drake, and was predeceased by two sisters, Louise Drake and Mildred Whitley. She was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Morris Riddick Worrell Jr. of Newsoms and James Franklin Worrell and wife Jenny of Franklin; four grandchildren, Ashby Anderson, Clint Worrell, James Worrell Jr. and Crystal Worrell; and four great-grandchildren, Chloe Worrell, Andrew Anderson, Luke Worrell and Blake Turner. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Hollywood Cemetery with the Rev. Darwin Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests memorials be made to Barnes United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Betty W. Darden, 33701 Statesville Road, Newsoms, VA 23874. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
