Bertram Twine Obituary


Bertram E. Twine Jr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Bertram Edward Twine Jr., 87, of the 3900 block of Border Way, passed away Sept. 16, 2008, in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. A native of Norfolk, Ed was the son of the late Bertram and Lillian Twine. He retired after 40 years as regional director with NCR and served as business manager at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church for more than 10 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Ed is survived by his wife, Helen G. Twine; three daughters, Sarah Wirges and husband Tom of Virginia Beach, Leslie Chapin and husband Ron of Suffolk and Jane Horvath and husband Steve of Poolesville, Md.; four grandchildren, John, Kevin, Dawn and Chris; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, James Twine. A memorial service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the AGAPE Sunday School Class, Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, 19th and Pacific Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
