Kenneth Stewart Obituary


Kenneth L. Stewart Sr. CHESAPEAKE - Kenneth Lee Stewart Sr., 68, of the 2700 block of Lake Drummond Causeway, passed away Sept. 17, 2008. Born in Old Norfolk County, he was the son of the late Harry E. Sr. and Margaret D. Stewart. He retired after 35 years from the Ford Assembly Plant in Norfolk, where he was a supervisor. Kenny will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. Survivors include four children, Janet Grant and husband Tom of Norfolk, Kenneth Lee Stewart Jr. and wife Hope of Raleigh, N.C., Lisa Ashley and husband Benjie of Chesapeake and Kevin Stewart and wife Susan of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren, Tommy Grant, Jared Stewart, Lindsey Stewart, Travis Ashley, Kenny Ashley, Madeline Stewart and Claudia Stewart; three brothers, Harry Elton Stewart Jr., Robert Bruce Stewart Sr. and Harvey Stewart; five sisters, Carolyn Mehailescu, Alice Portlock, Faye Hart, Doris Stewart and Betty Dermyer. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. William A. "Buddy" Hoggard II will officiate. Interment will be private. Viewing will begin Sunday with the family receiving friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The children would like to extend their sincere gratitude to family and friends for their love and support, especially the Wednesday Party Crew. Also, a special thanks to Elder Care at Home and his caregivers, Evangeline Alexander and Amanda Hurt. Memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association - DC/MD/VA Chapter, 7507 Standish Place, Rockville, MD 20855. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.omanfh.com.
