William Luhman Obituary


William L. Luhman NORFOLK - William L. Luhman, 68, of the 8500 block of Wayland St., passed away Sept. 16, 2008, in Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. A native of La Crosse, Wisc., he was the son of the late Veronica and Ronald H. Luhman Sr. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer after 32 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Ocean View, Mugwamps and Handyman of the Banque. He is survived by his wife, Chris Luhman; seven children, Tina Luhman, Katy Schneider and husband David, Gail Verhaagan and husband Brian, Riley Gilbert and wife Rhonda, Jamie Tucker and husband Ed, Paula Silva and husband Robert, Crys Gilbert and wife Janelle; 21 grandchildren, John, Danny, Donny, Devon, Jaron, Lovan, Graydon, Samantha, Joshua, Leah, Rebekah, Rachel, Bobbie, William, Emily, Dean, Salathiel, Rylee, Joaquin, Ashley and Alexis; four great-grandchildren, Hailey, Christina, Mariah and Timothy; and a sister, Patricia Luhman. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The burial will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com. He helped raise many other families and touched many many lives in many ways.
