Jimmie Jefferson Obituary
Jimmie W. Jefferson KNOTTS ISLAND - J.J. was born May 6, 1943, in Washington, N.C. He has gone to be with our Lord after passing away quietly in his home Sept. 20, 2008. J.J. is survived by his wife, Deborah Jefferson; two daughters, Tiffany "Poog" Crist (husband Geary) and Stacey "May" Moody (husband David); granddaughter, Morgan "Rooney" Moody; two sons, Dustin Kilgore (life partner Pedro Ramos) and Douglas Kilgore; four sisters, Dorthy Banks (husband Jesse), Ruth Avery (husband Johnnie), Glenda Canady (husband Linwood) and Kay Rhodes (husband Denny); seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends who all loved him wholeheartedly. J.J. was predeceased by parents, Martha and Wilson Jefferson and sister, Evelyn Lilley. J.J. served 17 years in the Army National Guard. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Knotts Island United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any hospice program.
