Albert Allen Obituary


Albert Lee Allen Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Albert Lee Allen Sr., known as Albert Lee, 68, of the 2900 block of Lyme Regis Quay, passed away Sept. 20, 2008, in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. A native of Princess Anne County, now Virginia Beach, he was a head custodian for the Virginia Beach school system for 30 years, retiring in 2006. He was predeceased by his mother, Laura Allen; father, Jessie Allen; sister, Delois Cooper; and brother, Melvin Allen. Albert Lee leaves to cherish his memory his loving family: his wife, JoAnn Allen; one daughter, Kisha Williams of Elizabeth City, N.C.; one son, Albert Lee Allen Jr. of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Evelyn Lane, Nellie Williams and Laurette Cornick, all of Virginia Beach. A funeral will be held at noon Thursday in New Hope Baptist Church, 395 Old Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach. The Rev. E. Ray Cox will officiate. Interment will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. The family will receive relatives and friends for remembrance and visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beach Funeral Services Inc., 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. The family will be receiving friends at his sister's home, Nellie Williams, 1088 Salisbury Drive, in the Magic Hollow section of Virginia Beach.
