Ethyl Hawkins Obituary
Ethyl M. Hawkins VIRGINIA BEACH - Ethyl M. Hawkins, 91, of the 6400 block of Auburn Drive, passed away Sept. 23, 2008, in Beth Shalom Nursing Home. A native of Gadsden, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ethyl Mitchell and the widow of Harry M. Hawkins Sr. She is survived by her two sons, Harry M. Hawkins and wife Bonnie of Herbert, N.C., and Dewitt A. Hawkins and wife Brenda of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Daniel M. Hawkins of Portsmouth and Teresa H. Alberson, Dewitt A. Hawkins Jr. and John C. Hawkins, all of Chesapeake; and four great- grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. The burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
