Donna Vance-Herbig Obituary

Donna M. Vance-Herbig PENSACOLA, Fla. - Donna Mary (Witkoskie) Vance-Herbig passed away after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Donna was born to John J. and Beatrice Witkoskie Sept. 13, 1958, in Norfolk. She was a honor graduate of Granby High School and Old Dominion University in Norfolk. Cooking for family was something near to heart. She loved nothing better than a night of sushi and bingo with the girls. Classic books and movies were something she could not get enough of. Donna fought a good fight, I'm so sorry she lost the battle. I will miss her dearly, we were teenage best friends, went to Granby High School together and kept in touch throughout the years. I talked to her a little over a month ago and we were both talking about our 50th birthdays and how we were both fighting recurrent cancer. My prayers and thoughts go out to her family. Donna will be greatly missed. She was the kindest person we knew and we truly loved her. Her knitting will live on in my daughter, whom she helped teach and inspired her to knit.I'm sad we never got to do our last plans for a night of birthday bingo and sushi. But I will continue on the tradition with her in my thoughths and wonderful memories. She always said she wanted" I'm in the monitor" on her gravestone. I hope she gets her wish. My deepest condolences goes to her family. Donna left her mark on this world on I know we will all cherish it.
