I just found out that Paul passed away. I worked with him at Clemons Courier in Norfolk, Va. He was a wonderful man and well respected. You are missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I was very sorry to read about Mr. Lightfoot's passing. I was friends with Danny and Donnella in high school, and remember Mr. Lightfoot as being a fine man. My thoughts are with the entire family.

As I was growing up, Mr. Lightfoot was an example of a Godly man and a Godly family man. Protector and Provider, Respectful and Righteous, in word and action. All these things I etched on my list of what I wanted, and found, in my husband. Thank you for being in my life. Thank God for His supply for our example.

My heart goes out to Phyllis, Paul's wife, as I know how much she will miss this wonderful man. I worked with Paul on the NOAA Ship Whiting while he was cook. He always had a smile on his face and was the kindest most generous man I have known. What I remember about Paul was his genuine caring and compassion for people and of course his love of his motor cycle! I remember his stories of Sturges (?) and my ingorance at the time to what that event was. He truely had a love for life and he loved to share that with others. I do remember how fondly he talked of his wife and his family. It really struck a heart string I remember, because many of the men on the NOAA ships didn't talk much about their families. Paul did. I had not seen Paul since I left NOAA over 15 years ago (wow, how time passes!) and yet we sent Christmas cards each year and he was one of the first people to send a congradulations card to my oldest son when he graduated from high school this year. My son was very taken by the kind words from a man he never met but who took the time to share his thoughts and a gift on my son's important day. My husband Parran also knew Paul from the NOAA days and they went back even longer! Paul used to call my husband "PK" for his initials instead of by his traditional nickname of "KP" (for kitchen Patrol from his earlier years). My husband and I have often mentioned how we really need to invite Paul and Phyllis over for dinner and catch-up. I wish we had not waited.
