Nelson West Obituary
Nelson E. West Sr. CHESAPEAKE - Nelson Eugene "Simon" West Sr., 58, passed away Sept. 25, 2008, in his residence. He was a native of Henderson, N.C., and was a son of the late Leitha West. He retired as a forklift mechanic from Norfolk Naval Base and was a member of Crossroads Hunt Club. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janice West; his father, Henry Nelson West; a daughter, Tina Gayle West; a son, Nelson Eugene West Jr. and his wife Jennifer; three sisters, Brenda Hearn, Carol Spivey and Peggy Davis; four brothers, Robert West, Brett West, Charlie West and Doug West; and two grandchildren, Kayla West and Lindsey West. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Mike Putnam. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Especially Charlie, Robert, Doug, Boo, Peggy, Carol, Brenda, Janice and her children.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Just remember always keep memories alive in your heart always and forever. It certainly has helped me with the loss of my father. As well as my Aunt Mary who just recently passed away this year.
