Annie Brown Obituary


Annie Brown CHESAPEAKE - Annie M. Brown, 86, of the 3000 block of Camelot Blvd., passed away Sept. 24, 2008, in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk. A native of Rocky Mount, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Myrtle Culpepper. She was an assistant chef at the Norfolk Naval Base. She was a member of St. Paul Pentecostal First Born Church, Portsmouth, where she was the state mother and Sunday school superintendent; she was also a member of the Pastor's Aide, an Usher and member of the Missionary Board. She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Spentz and Yvonne Davis (James); three sons, Dr. James P. Brown (Mildred), Cleophas Brown (Vivian) and Thomas L. Culpepper (Renae); 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A wake will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Highway, Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Pentecostal First Born Church, 1500 Elm Ave., Portsmouth, VA 23704 by Elder Laura A. Debrough. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Final care arrangements have been entrusted to J.T. Fisher Funeral Services.
