Beverly Land

Beverly N. Land VIRGINIA BEACH - Beverly Neal Land, 75, passed away Sept. 26, 2008, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with leukemia. She was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Princeton, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Tilda Mae and Bernard Lane Neal. She was a graduate of Oceana High School and had been a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach, where she was active in the "one anothering group." She was an avid tennis player, enjoyed golf and bridge. She was also a member of the Cavalier Garden Club and served on the Virginia Beach General Hospital Auxiliary. She and her husband traveled extensively. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Langley P. Land; two daughters, Neale Ford and her husband John and Heather Alexander and her companion Ian Morris; and four grandchildren, Rogers Ford, Caroline Ford and Grayson and Landon Alexander. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Beverly Preston Land and son-in-law, Michael Lee Alexander. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach with interment to follow in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery.
