Hazel Morgan Obituary


Hazel T. Morgan EDENTON - Hazel Twiddy Morgan, 85, of the 100 block of Court St., died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, in her home. Mrs. Morgan was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Frank and Rachel Ainsley Twiddy. A member of Macedonia Baptist Church, she had worked as a sales clerk at both Belk's and Sears, and later retired after many years as manager of Swain Apartments. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Morgan; sisters, Unabelle Jones, Doris Richardson and Faye Harrell; and a brother, Ben Twiddy. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Jordan and husband Garry of Edenton and Angie Black and husband Eddie of Elizabeth City; son, James Morgan and wife Nancy of Edenton; sister, Glenn Lane of Edenton; four grandchildren, Jon Morgan, Wayne Jordan, Wendy Harrell and Amber Black; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Bob Young. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times at the home of her daughter, 115 Emperor Landing Road, Edenton. Floral tributes are welcome, or contributions in her memory may be made to the building fund of Macedonia Baptist Church, 1004 Macedonia Road, Edenton, NC 27932.
