Pinkie Bagby Obituary


Pinkie Ann Bagby CHESAPEAKE - Pinkie Ann Bagby, 95, of the 4100 block of Leyte Ave., passed quietly and peacefully into eternal rest Sept. 27, 2008. She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of Willie H. and Maranda Ellis Bell. She was the widow of Roland Eugene Bagby Jr. Mrs. Bagby was a loving, sweet and pleasant lady who always greeted you with a smile. A dedicated member of First Calvary Baptist Church, she was active in many phases of church life including the Women's Club, the Missionary Society and the Female Usher Board No. 2. She was a member of United Order of Tents, Tent No. 500 and the Daughters of Norfolk. She was also active with S.E.V.A.M.P. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter, Lenora B. Alexander; sons, Roland V. Bagby III (Daisy), Walter B. Bagby (Dorethea), Raymond G. Bagby (Brenda), Lloyd B. Bagby (Martha), Lionel K. Bagby (Elouise) and William A. Bagby (Yvonne). She will also be sorely missed by her 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A celebration of life will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in First Calvary Baptist Church, 813 Henry St. with the Rev. Dr. Johnnie L. White officiating. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be placed in church at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends at Riddick Funeral Service, 1225 Norview Ave., Friday beginning at 6 p.m. The funeral will assemble at the church at 10:45 a.m. Saturday. www.riddickfuneralservices.com.
