Gladys Blair Obituary

Gladys A. Blair WYTHEVILLE - Gladys Annette Blair of Carrington Place, Wytheville, formerly of Norfolk, passed away Sept. 30, 2008, at Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Dublin, Va. In addition to her parents, Annie Myrtle Shrader Blair and John Caldwell Calhoun Blair, she was preceded in death by her brothers, J. C. C. "Jack" Blair Jr. and R. J. "Pat" Blair. She is survived by her sister Margaret Blair Grimes of Wytheville; her sister-in-law, Hazel Blair; her nieces, Ann Blair, Sue Blair Murphy, Roberta Ainsworth Clay; her nephew, John Anthony "Tony" Blair; and numerous great and great-great-nieces and -nephews. Gladys is a person who will be greatly missed by the friends and family who will be left behind, jealous of those people in heaven who will be introduced to a Christian who led a truly good and fascinating life. The family would like to thank the staffs of Carrington Place, Wytheville Community Hospital, and Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center for helping take care of Gladys as she passed on. Her ashes will be interred at a memorial service at Walton Furnace, Wythe County, Virginia, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
